  • Charlie Hope Valintyne‘s art is rooted in a lot of pop culture favorites, mental health exploration, and lovable animals. (Boston)

  • EJ Greaves‘ art is full of fun, abstract-realistic pop images and cartoon-like drawings that will bring lots of joy. (EJ lives in Durham, NC)

  • Elliot Christopher is a sex positive, body positive artist who uses a variety of media. Some of the art has mature content, but what fun would the art world be without that? (New York)

  • Evan Osa paints beautiful, emotional, abstract expressionistic and usually very colorful paintings, as well as Calder-like ink drawings. I am drawn to his spirit and he is one of my soul mates in art and life. (Osa is from California)

  • Jacqui Lee is a longtime internet friend. We met on LiveJournal about twenty years ago. She lives in Australia and has been painting and writing for many years, always part of the art and music scenes, going back to Woodstock days. She writes a popular blog on “Starts at 60” and is a huge inspiration and close friend, almost like family even though we live on opposite sides of the world and never met. She paints realism style, mainly portraits and landscapes. (Australia)
by Jacqui Lee. I chose this one because my family has always loved the ocean and lighthouses. I figured my mom would like this one lot. It takes me back to days on Cape Cod although I am sure this probably isn’t Cape Cod.
  • James Welch is an old internet friend who’s been a supporter of my art since the beginning, and I’ve loved his right from the start as well. I bought a handmade shirt of Robert Johnson from him years ago, and it’s been my joy to watch him continue to develop his craft over the years. His art is a personal statement of his queer, black experience, and he uses a variety of media to express himself, from 2D art, photography, sculpture, concept art, fashion, and more. (James is from Illinois)

  • Jaz Dragon Lorentzen does a variety of stuff including some great abstract spray paint art that reminds me of the 80’s with the colors and energy, as well as gender fluidity and the harsh reality of this still gender divided world. (Jaz lives in Colorado)

  • JT Lee is a talented photographer who captures some of the natural beauties of the world in nature, animals, and city sights. (Boston)

  • Kristopher Jt Toma-Lee is a street photographer whose bright photos of graffiti, bricks, and beauty found in unexpected places seem to be influenced by his strong politics and human rights activism. (Boston)

  • Len Di Mercurio is a local artist I recently met who does beautiful, emotionally expressive water colors as well as cartoon-like drawings of sci-fi and fantasy creatures, sometimes mixing the cartoons and the watercolor for some great effects. (Boston)

  • Lisa Leslie is a talented writer, artist, and singer. Honestly, I think she’s good at everything she attempts. She doesn’t have a site for her art or music right now, but she works as a professional writer for hire and the link is to her professional consulting page. If you need help with the wording of your web site, writing a speech, setting up and designing a web site, etc. She does it all and comes highly recommended. She helped me get started with this web site and helps with things I can’t figure out how to do, but I still had the freedom to design it how I wanted. (Lisa lives in NH)

  • Niko Matthews is a new friend who I gravitated towards immediately with his taste in music, art, pop culture, fashion, and skateboarding. He does a little bit of it all and I just bought a print of one of one of his photos.

  • Pat Mattina was my high school art teacher in alternative high school and she’s the art teacher that meant the most to me. I had many art teachers, but Pat shaped me more than any other. Her new work is quite different than the piece by her listed here, but she still shows her work in galleries in Waltham, and maybe PTown, and she works as an art teacher for hire. If you’re looking for private lessons, she’s someone I’d highly recommend. Easily one of the best teachers and artists you’ll ever meet. (Boston)
This is a painting by Pat Mattina from 1995. I don’t think she still shows it and I don’t know if it ever sold, but it’s me at age 16, looking sad, like I so often was.
  • Prospero Eaton is an artist with OOTB Gallery who does bright, abstract paintings of unique looking creatures, from cats to monsters. He sometimes paints with spaghetti and his art is full of unique character. (Boston)

Prospero has several paintings, including a great one of David Bowie available through Out Of the Blue Gallery.

  • Richard Shannon was one of the first artists I met at OOTB Gallery back in 2017 or 2018 and he is one of the most cherished members of the gallery with his mind blowing detailed art that is kind of like a cross between Dali, Escher, and a Tool album cover. A lot of his stuff was done in the 70’s under the influence of psychedelics, which was not a surprise to hear after seeing the art. Richard is unique though, because as brilliant as his art is, he is just a modest, laid back, regular Boston guy, and he has been a pleasure to work alongside. I am spoiled I get to see his stuff all the time. Now you can too through his web site. (Boston)
  • Sean-Michael Gettys‘ art brings a sense of peace. He works in a variety of mediums with a distinct style that seems to have gone from very good to brilliant overnight, but I know it was through hard work along with natural talent and spirit. I plan to add something by him to my collection. (California)
some beautiful art by Sean-Michael Gettys
  • S.T. Gately‘s art is bright, fun, and strongly influenced by street art. There is a variety of subject matter, but all in her own style that has a strong spirit. She is an art teacher and an inspiration to me. (Boston)

  • Terry Hinds-Brandt is a musician and artist who works mainly in digital art and photography, although not limited to that. The style ranges from psychedelic imagery to some very punk-rock New York City imagery, all seemingly influenced by Terry’s great taste in music. (Terry once lived in Boston but is from and now lives in NY)

  • Wicked Soft is my friend’s soap store and the soap is amazing! I’ve been buying it for a couple years now, for myself, as well as gifts for friends. They make the perfect small gift. They’re handmade soaps in a variety of scents. Some are made with milk and honey and some are vegan. Each soap is a unique piece of art with a New England feel. I’ve tried pretty much every one of them in the last two years and they’re all such a treat to spoil myself and others with. (RI)

Stand by as I will be adding more friends to this list.
